'HealthSherpa for Agents' Overview
HealthSherpa provides an enhanced enrollment connection meaning every application will be automatically synced with HealthCare.gov. Clients never have to log into HealthCare.gov and your application time decreases to an average of 7.5 minutes!

Creating a 'HealthSherpa for Agents' Account
Creating a 'HealthSherpa for Agents' account is fast, easy, and free. Most agents are able to go through this process in 3-4 minutes. If you haven't already created a 'HealthSherpa for Agents' account, visit this page for step-by-step instructions.
Integrate your FFM account
CMS requires HealthSherpa (and all EDE partners) to require agents and brokers to integrate their FFM accounts. Agents who fail to do so will not be able to search the Marketplace, submit applications, or view clients.
Luckily, this is a quick and easy process to complete. Here’s how:
Click into your Settings, and click the “Integrate My FFM Account” button
This will launch the “CMS Okta Identity Management” portal in a new window
Log in using your FFM username and password to authenticate and link your HealthSherpa account
Once the account is integrated, you will see a success banner at the top of the screen as well as a green check mark noting you were successful.
You will need to complete this authentication process every 12 hours to remain in compliance with CMS requirements.

Enable Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE)
Enhanced Direct Enrollment is a technology that allows HealthSherpa to fully integrate with the Marketplace, so you can do applications entirely on HealthSherpa without being redirected to HealthCare.gov. With HealthSherpa’s EDE, you can process applications, submit follow-ups, track statuses, and much more without ever leaving HealthSherpa — managing your ACA business becomes easier and more streamlined.
Here’s how to Enable EDE:
When you log into your dashboard, you will see a “Enable EDE” button at the top - please click on this to begin the ID proofing process.
This will take you to a page to verify your identity - you will enter your contact information here and then click "Continue".
This will then pull up the ID proofing questions based on personal credit history through CMS' partner, Experian.
Please note: These questions are pulled from your personal information, so please answer with your own information (not information about your business)
Upon successful ID proofing, you will be taken back to your dashboard and the "Enable EDE" button in the top of your dashboard will be gone. You now have access to EDE! Learn more about Enabling EDE here.
Enrollee Assistance Program
The HealthSherpa Enrollee Assistance Shared-Service Model allows you to maintain a strong relationship with your consumers throughout the year and partner with HealthSherpa to provide ACA application assistance, enrollment assistance, and ongoing support for your consumer’s ACA health plan.
If you decide to enable the Enrollee Assistance Program, you will be able to choose for which carriers you’d like to enable EAP. If the application is submitted using EAP, the application will be processed using HealthSherpa's NPN. If the application is not submitted using EAP, your NPN (or Override NPN) will be applied.
HealthSherpa compensates participating agents at the time of enrollment, and additional compensation may occur when consumers stay with the plan for a defined period of time. If you decide to opt into the program, a popup detailing our Joint Marketing Agreement will appear. Learn more about the Enrollee Assistance Program here.
Note: You remain responsible for complying with all applicable state insurance laws regarding licensure and appointment. The EAP may not be used to circumvent state laws that require you to be appointed with a carrier in order to discuss that carrier’s plans with a consumer.
If you choose the HealthSherpa Enrollee Assistance Shared-Service Model, you’re responsible for collecting and uploading consent authorizing you and HealthSherpa to provide support before you proceed. Learn more about EAP consent guidelines here.
If you prefer to transfer all of your consumer relationships to HealthSherpa, consider leveraging the HealthSherpa Enrollee Assistance Full-Service Model. In the Full-Service Model, HealthSherpa collects and documents consent, conducts a full needs analysis, manages the enrollment and the consumer relationship, and all applications are processed using HealthSherpa's NPN.
Update Your 'Carriers' Settings
Your Carrier Settings page is the place to add your licensed states, add your appointed carriers, and (if you have the HealthSherpa Enrollee Assistance Shared-Service Model enabled) to set your Enrollee Assistance Program (EAP) Carriers.
To access this page, click on the gear icon located at the top right-hand side of your dashboard, and select "Carriers." Learn more about your carrier settings here.

With your HealthSherpa for Agents account you get access to powerful shopping and enrollment tools so you can:
Easily quote & compare plans with accurate subsidy estimation displayed
Share plans with your clients
Quickly search for providers and prescriptions
View plans from all available carriers in a customer’s writing area
Access pre-filled renewal applications

To start the shopping and enrollment process, all you have to do is click on the “Quote” button on the top of your dashboard. Watch a training video outlining how to quote, apply, and select a plan using 'HealthSherpa for Agents' to learn more.
Client Management
Being able to easily manage, track, and follow up with your clients is important. It will help you stay organized, work more efficiently, and most importantly grow your business. That’s why we have spent so much time creating client management tools inside your 'HealthSherpa for Agents' account.
You'll find clients categorized into either the 'Clients' page or the 'Leads' page.
The 'Clients' page displays customers who have finalized their enrollment. The 'Leads' page displays clients who have begun the quoting/application process, but have not yet finalized their enrollment. When Leads submit their application and select and enroll in a plan, they will automatically be moved over to the 'Clients' page.

Now with Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE), you’re able to easily maintain applications directly from HealthSherpa. After you have finalized an enrollment, here are some of the things you can do inside your dashboard:

Branded Enrollment Website
HealthSherpa provides a customizable enrollment website where your clients can quote to see available plans and even enroll. Clients are also able to translate the site into Spanish!
Here’s how it works:
Easily update your own custom landing page from the Marketing page
Share your direct link with clients and track their progress
When clients enroll through your unique direct marketing link, they are associated with your account and will have your NPN automatically applied to any application submitted. Note: If you are participating in the Enrollee Assistance Program (EAP), the NPN applied will depend on your specific EAP and any alternative Carrier Settings you have in place for respective carriers.
