Agents have various ways to earn bonus dollars for enrollment activity within HealthSherpa. The Bonuses page is home to the Enrollee Assistance Program, Medicare Referrals, Broker Bonuses, & the Associates program.
In this article we’ll cover:
The Bonuses page is not available within carrier-specific account types.
Bonuses page at a glance
The Bonuses page is where agents view bonus programs available in the HealthSherpa account & track activity and payouts.
Programs available on the Bonuses page include the Enrollee Assistance Program, Medicare Referrals, Broker Bonuses, & Associates program.
Enrollee Assistance Program
The HealthSherpa Enrollee Assistance Program (EAP) gives agents a way to partner with HealthSherpa to help ensure consumers have a smooth enrollment experience.
Applications submitted using EAP are processed using HealthSherpa’s National Producer Number (NPN), which can help agents offer consumers access to the full range of health plans available in a given market.
HealthSherpa compensates participating agents at the time of enrollment, with additional compensation possible if consumers remain enrolled for a defined period.
Agents remain responsible for complying with all applicable state insurance laws regarding licensure and appointment. The EAP may not be used to circumvent state laws that require agents to be appointed with a carrier in order to discuss that carrier’s plans with a consumer. EAP functionality is disabled in certain states, and not all carriers participate in EAP.
Medicare Referrals
The Medicare Referrals program lets agents refer Medicare leads to HealthSherpa’s Medicare team. The team completes a needs analysis & helps the consumer enroll in a Medicare plan.
Applications submitted through the Medicare Referrals program are processed using HealthSherpa’s National Producer Number (NPN).
Agents can earn a one-time bonus payout when the referred consumer enrolls in a plan.
Broker Bonuses
The Broker Bonuses program lets agents earn bonus dollars from select carriers when an enrollment submission is completed through HealthSherpa. Eligibility depends on the carrier campaign, including appointment status and geography.
Broker Bonuses are not a referral program. The agent remains the Agent of Record (AOR), and the agent’s National Producer Number (NPN) is used on the enrollment.
These bonuses are exclusive to HealthSherpa, paid by HealthSherpa, and are in addition to any standard carrier commissions, bonuses, or overrides.
Broker Bonuses are not available within HealthSherpa Enrollee Assistance Full-Service account types.
Associates program
The Associates program lets agents share a unique link inviting other agents to sign up for HealthSherpa.
When an agent creates an account using the link, they become the inviting agent’s Associate. Associates get their own HealthSherpa account, and the inviting agent does not have access to the Associate’s account.
The inviting agent is eligible for a bonus paid by HealthSherpa each time an Associate submits an Enrollee Assistance Program (EAP) application.
Tracking bonus payouts
Agents can track bonus payouts within the Bonuses page. Select a program tab to view the payment dashboard for that program.
To receive bonus payouts, agents must complete additional steps on the Bonuses page so that payouts can be processed.
