Administrator access

Primary administrators can grant administrator access to other agents in the agency.

Administrator access lets a primary administrator give selected agents visibility into the Agency page and certain agency level tools.

In this article we’ll cover:

Administrator access cannot be granted to agents with HealthSherpa Enrollee Assistance Full-Service account types.


Administrator access at a glance

Administrator access lets a primary administrator give selected agents the ability to view and manage certain components of the Agency page. Agents who have been granted administrator access by a primary administrator become agency administrators, also known as agency admins.

Granting administrator access can be useful for primary admins who want to share administrative responsibilities, divide management of key workflows, or give others visibility into agency level reporting.

Only primary admins and agency admins will see the Agency page within their HealthSherpa dashboard.


Granting administrator access

Administrator access is controlled by the primary administrator. To grant administrator access, the primary admin can go to the Agency page.

From the Overview tab, find the Admin column. Select the checkbox next to each direct downline agent you want to grant administrator access.

In this example, David Test and Hatch Downline have been granted agency administrator access. These agents can access the Agency page and manage certain agency level tools.

Downline agents must have Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) enabled for the primary admin to grant administrator access.

HealthSherpa sends agents an email notification when a primary admin grants or removes administrator access.


Agency admin capabilities

Agency admins can use administrator tools on the Agency page to help manage agency level workflows and settings.

Agency admin capabilities within the Agency page include:

  • View the complete agency hierarchy

  • Grant and remove Shared Book and Full Book access

  • Access the Tasks and Insights tab

  • Manage settings on the National Producer Number (NPN) override tab

  • Export agency level reporting

  • Manage agency level export settings

  • Leverage the Consent Library tab

  • Update agency details and copy the agency join code

  • Manage certain email settings for direct downline agents

  • View carrier settings for direct downline agents

Only the primary admin of an agency can:

  • Grant or remove administrator access for agents in the downline

  • Join an upline agency


Frequently asked questions

Can an upline agency grant administrator access to agents within a sub-agency?

The primary administrator of an upline can grant administrator access to the primary admin of a sub-agency. This gives the primary admin of the sub-agency administrator access to the upline agency.

Direct downline agents within a sub-agency cannot be granted administrator access by the primary admin of an upline.
