How do I pay my monthly premium?

Details how to make your first premium payment to activate Marketplace coverage, including when payments can be made through HealthSherpa, when to pay your insurance company directly, and where to find plan contact information.

After enrolling, your first premium payment activates your coverage. You can make this payment directly through your HealthSherpa dashboard or with your insurance company.

How to pay through HealthSherpa

  1. Log in to your HealthSherpa account.

  2. On your dashboard, look for a button labeled Pay Premium next to your active plan.

  3. Follow the steps to submit your payment securely.

If you see the Pay Premium button, you can complete your first payment right on HealthSherpa.

If you don’t see the Pay Premium option

Some insurance companies require payments to be made directly through them. If the button isn’t available:

  • Look for your insurance company’s contact information under the Plans 2025 section of your dashboard.

  • Call or visit your carrier’s website to make your payment.

Ongoing monthly payments

After your first payment, all future premiums should be paid directly to your insurance company - not through HealthSherpa.
