How do I cancel my plan?

You can request to cancel your Marketplace plan at any time, and the end date is usually the last day of the month you choose.

Steps to cancel through HealthSherpa

  1. Log in to your HealthSherpa account.

  2. Find Cancel Coverage in your dashboard.

  3. Follow the prompts to submit your cancellation request.

  4. The Marketplace will process it, and you will receive a confirmation notice.

If you need help

  • HealthSherpa’s Consumer Advocates can walk you through your options and make sure your request is submitted correctly at 855-772-2663 (Monday to Friday, 6 am to 4 pm Pacific).

  • You can call the Marketplace at 1-800-318-2596 (available 24/7) and request a cancellation.

Important notes

  • Coverage usually ends on the last day of the month you request cancellation, unless you choose a future date.

  • Specify whether you are ending coverage for the whole household or certain people only.

  • If you want to stop paying premiums before the plan ends, first confirm your cancellation has fully processed.

  • If you are switching to new coverage, for example an employer plan, time your cancellation so there is no gap between plans.

Quick note

If you find that you did not enroll through HealthSherpa, contact your insurance company’s Member Services to cancel directly with them.
