There are several reasons an application does not immediately come up when searched for on HealthCare.gov. Please follow these steps to troubleshoot:

  1. If you have tried searching several times with no luck, completely log out of the page, and start over by clicking the ‘Access Marketplace’ button on your dashboard.

  2. Search using the minimum amount of information required - primary applicant’s name, date of birth, state, and plan year. If you are unsure who the primary applicant is, try using the name of the oldest applicant.

  3. Double-check the birthdate and the name - incorrect birthdates or names are the most common reason an application cannot be found. Make sure there are no spaces before or after the name.

  4. If that still does not work, add the application ID number into the search as well. You can also try both the current, and the previous plan year.
