How do I get FFM Certified?

  1. Create a CMS Enterprise Portal account:
  • Go to the CMS Portal
  • Under the CMS Secure Portal box on the right hand side of the screen, click New User Registration to create a CMS Enterprise Portal account
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions on the next screen
  • You will then be prompted to enter in your personal information. When that has been completed, select Next at the bottom of the screen. 
  • You will need to create a unique FFM User ID (must be between 6-74 characters in length, include at least one letter, must not include your social security number or any 9 consecutive numbers) and a FFM Password (must be between 8-20 characters in length, and must include one capital and lowercase letter, one number, and cannot include your FFM User ID). It will then prompt you to select 3 challenge questions that will be used to verify your identity if you need to make changes to your account. You will then click Next.
  • You will see a page letting you know that your account has been successfully created and you will also receive a confirmation email to the email address that you provided with your personal information. When you click on the OK button at the bottom of the screen, you will be brought back the the CMS Portal home screen.

      2.   Request the FFM Agent Broker Role:

  • On the CMS Portal Home Page, click on Login to CMS Secure Portal.
  • Read and Accept the Terms and Conditions that appear.
  • Enter in your FFM Username and password that you created for your account.
  • Once you are logged in, click on the blue Request Access Now button on the right hand side of the page.
  • An Access Catalog will populate on the screen with a list of Roles that you can request access for. Locate the FFM Training Agents/Brokers/Assisters role, by scrolling down the list, or typing F into the search box. Once you locate this role, click the gray Request Access button.
  • In the dropdown menu next to System Description, select FFM Training - Agents Brokers Assisters, then in the dropdown menu next to Role, select FFM Agent Broker (Do not select the Assister option, this will provide you with different training that will not certify you as an Agent Broker. If you do this, you will need to contact the CMS Help desk to change your role). Once these options have been selected, click Submit below.

      3.   Conduct Identity Proofing:

  • After clicking submit from the above step, you will be presented with a disclaimer regarding your privacy, read this then to continue click Next.
  • You will then need to read through the Terms and Conditions listed regarding your Identity Verification and to proceed, click the checkbox indicating that you agree and click Next.
  • On the next page, the system will populate some of your information based on the information that you provided when you first created your CMS Portal account. Here, make sure that all of the information listed is correct and fill out any required information that may be missing. Once all of the required information is provided and correct, click the Next button. 
  • You will be asked a series of questions with answer choices that only you should know the answers to. Once you indicate the correct answers, click Next.
  • When your identity has been successfully verified, a Complete Set Up box will appear letting you know that you completed the process. Please press Next. If CMS is unable to verify your identity remotely, CMS will provide you with a phone number that you can call with a code that you can provide to verify yourself.
  • Once this is completed, you will see a logout message. Press OK.

      4.   Complete MLMS (Marketplace Learning Management System) Profile:

  • Log back into your CMS Portal, using the FFM username and password that you used to create the account. Once you are logged in, click on the Complete Agent Broker Training link, where you will be directed to the Agent broker Registration Status page. You can either complete your Agent Broker training through MLMS or through one of the CMS approved training vendor. To begin the training, click on the Access Training link next to either MLMS or the other training vendors.
  • You will need to fill out the required fields on the MLMS profile page and Web Based Profile pages, once this has been completed, click on the Save/Update button to continue.
  • You will then be directed to the MLMS landing page. 

      5.   Complete Training:

      6.   Execute Agreement(s) with CMS:

  • After finishing the training, you will need to log back into the MLMS landing page from your CMS Portal by clicking on Access Training next to the Marketplace Learning Management System (CMS). 
  • You can find the Agreement Modules under the Current Learning section on the MLMS landing page. Select the Launch link next to the Agreement(s) in order to start. 

      7.   Confirm Completion of all Registration Steps and Print Registration Completion Certificate:

  • Once the Agreement(s) has been executed, you will be re-directed back to the Agent Broker Registration Status page in the CMS Enterprise Portal.
  • As long as you have completed all of the Registration steps, you will be able to print your Registration Completion Certificate if you so choose (this certificate will show your name, NPN, it will indicate whether the certificate is for the individual or SHOP Marketplace, year, and date that you completed registration.
  • To double check that your registration was completed, you can visit: and scroll towards the bottom of the page and click the blue Access Agent and Broker FFM Registration Completion List button to view the list of NPNs of agents that have completed their registration!
